Bringing Research Voices into the Classroom Enriching NRT Learning
Wednesday, Oct 29, 2025
Because it is imperative to prepare students from every angle, we strive to bring guest speakers into NRT courses to share their expertise and perspectives. Having multiple voices and varied topics enhances classroom learning far beyond what a single lecturer can provide.
Throughout this semester, Dr. Borko Furht has worked to host several guest presenters in his Advanced Internet Systems course, expanding the depth and diversity of learning experiences for students.
On September 29, he welcomed Dr. Mehrdad Nojoumian, who presented “Blockchain Technologies and Bitcoin Applications.” Later, on October 23, Dr. Nataliia Neshenko delivered an engaging talk titled “The Secret Life of AI Agents: Cycles of Perception, Decision, Action, and Learning.” What an extraordinary topic!
And because learning from peers can be just as inspiring, Dr. Furht also invited former NRT trainees Juan Merlos and Ashan Perera to share their experiences as past fellows and to discuss their research achievements. Both have earned multiple patents and continue to extend their work into innovative, high-impact achievements.
