An Artificial Intelligence Driven Framework for Healthcare, Presented by Harshal A. Sanghvi

On February 28, 2025, our trainees had the privilege of attending an insightful lecture by Dr. Harshal A. Sanghvi, PhD, who discussed the transformative role of AI frameworks in healthcare applications. The lecture covered a wide range of uses for AI across fields like ophthalmology, radiology, neurology, and dermatology, leaving the audience with much to think about regarding the potential of AI to revolutionize medical practice.

Dr. Sanghvi illustrated the integration of engineering and medicine, emphasizing the importance of collaborating with medical professionals to create platforms that has diagnostic and therapeutic functionalities using technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality. This interdisciplinary approach offers immense potential for impactful solutions in healthcare. He also discussed case studies of some of the healthcare industry who are utilizing this approach and scaling their business.

Additionally, Dr. Sanghvi’s personal journey as an FAU alum resonated with many students. His success story, supported by the tools and knowledge gained at FAU, was truly inspiring. His presentation was not only informative but also offered a glimpse into the future of healthcare through the lens of AI.
