Spring 2026 Schmidt College of Science Scholarships
Dean Perry CoS Graduate Scholarship (1 Award)

- Deadline: Feb. 16
This scholarship is for FAU doctoral students admitted to candidacy for one of the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science Ph.D. programs who have demonstrated excellence in dissertation research (e.g., publications, presentations at national meetings, or external funding, etc) and are in good academic standing with CESCOS and the Graduate College.
Sarajedini Family Scholarship (1 Award)

- For undergraduate students

Established by Prof. Ata Sarajedini when he served as Dean of the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science, this scholarship is intended to support promising undergraduate students with a demonstrated financial need. This scholarship is awarded to undergraduate student in the College of Science. Students must demonstrate financial need. No GPA required, but recipients must be in good standing in the university
Jose and Lodoiska Garcia Scholarship fund (100 awards)

- For undergraduate students
- Deadline: Feb. 16
A total of 100 scholarships of $2,000.00 per scholarship shall be awarded. Recipients must be full-time undergraduate students in Charles E. Schmidt College of Science or students majoring in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Recipients must have completed at least one year at FAU. Recipients will have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Recipients must have unmet financial need as demonstrated by FAFSA. Priority will be given to students who were in the foster care system and aged out.
Department of Defense SMART Scholarship Eligibility & STEM Disciplines
The program focuses on students pursuing disciplines that are critical to national security functions of the Department of Defense (DoD). SMART offers undergraduate and graduate STEM students a combined educational and workforce opportunity by providing the following benefits:
- Full tuition
- Annual stipends ($30,000-$46,000)
- Annual health and book allowances
- Summer internships
- Career opportunity with the Department of Defense
