Fall 2025 Schmidt College of Science Scholarships
Sarajedini Family Scholarship

Established by Prof. Ata Sarajedini when he served as Dean of the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science, this scholarship is intended to support promising undergraduate students with a demonstrated financial need . This scholarship is awarded to undergraduate student in the College of Science. Students must demonstrate financial need. No GPA required, but recipients must be in good standing in the university.
Science Graduate Research Support Scholarship
- For graduate students
- Deadline: Oct. 12
This scholarship was established by the Dean of the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science. This scholarship is available to any student of good standing in a graduate program in the college of science who is conducting research under supervision of an FAU faculty member. This scholarship is merit-based and does not require financial aid eligibility (FAFSA not required).
Andrew R. & Marjorie C. Buglione Endowed Scholarship

- For undergraduate and graduate students.

Established by Andrew R. and Marjorie C. Buglione in the memory of Ballard Simmons to provide scholarships in Mathematics and Science for undergraduate and graduate students.
Undergraduate recipients must be either graduating seniors from the Palm Beach County high schools or transfer students from Palm Beach Community College (now Palm Beach State College) with priority given to students from north Palm Beach County. If eligible undergraduate students cannot be found who meet this criterion, the awards may be made to residents of Palm Beach County presently enrolled at the College of Science. Graduate recipients must be graduates of Palm Beach County high schools or of Palm Beach Community College (now Palm Beach State College) with priority given to students from north Palm Beach County. Department of Defense SMART Scholarship Eligibility & STEM Disciplines
The program focuses on students pursuing disciplines that are critical to national security functions of the Department of Defense (DoD). SMART offers undergraduate and graduate STEM students a combined educational and workforce opportunity by providing the following benefits:
- Full tuition
- Annual stipends ($30,000-$46,000)
- Annual health and book allowances
- Summer internships
- Career opportunity with the Department of Defense
