Hawksbill Hideout

Videography by Parker Peterson, student, College of Engineering and Computer Science

In the video one can see the critically endangered Hawksbill Sea Turtle displaying defensive behavior. The turtle is in its adolescence as it was approximately 18-inches long. While the video was being filmed there was a significant amount of people around which caused the turtle to recognize the possibility of being in danger. In order to get away from the possibility of danger the turtle goes under the rocks to get away as the turtle rightly assumes that the possible danger would not follow through the formation. The turtle also seeks relief from the current and waves by going under the rock formation. On the rock formation is the start of coral formations, which can provide the turtle with a possible food source.
