CREATE Program Helps Students Explore Arts Careers

The Cultivating Resilient and Experienced Artists Through Training and Education (CREATE) program had its inaugural program this summer in Florida Atlantic University’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters. The program, which will continue through the next two years, provides high school students with a unique opportunity to develop their skills, gain professional experience, and prepare for the next stage of their careers as artists.

Rising high school juniors from select Broward County public high schools participated in college campus experiences, museum and performing arts tours, career exploration activities, resume-building sessions, and artist workshops designed to support their growth as emerging professionals.

The free program is made possible through the generosity of local philanthropists who play a vital role in the program's success and community engagement. It is run by Claire Clum, program coordinator, and Jacquelene Lieberman, assistant program coordinator.
