Dr. Shermeen Yousif, Assistant Professor at the SoA FAU

Dr. Shermeen Yousif, a school of architecture faculty at FAU presented her work on artificial intelligence and architecture at the Digital-FUTURES Arabic session titled: ”A Cross-Disciplinary Dialogue in Computational Design”. The session covers a spectrum of topics including ecological intelligence, generative art, and AI and deep learning.

This episode of Digital-FUTURES Arab Talk hosts a dialogue between a group of architects, researchers, artists, and a Rhino/GH software developer, exploring the cross-disciplinary nature of computational design. Computational design ideas may start in one discipline and evolve into others. Six Arab experts from different backgrounds and different parts of the world will take part in the conversation, exchanging their experiences and sharing their work. The session focuses on the different processes and workflows used in the creation of the diverse outcomes. Moving between research, academic, and professional work, the dialogue will question the future possibilities of computational design in architecture, as well as other important fields of computational design, such as generative and mixed-media arts.
