The FAU School of Architecture is excited to announce that Madeline Gannon, researcher, artist, and “robot whisperer,” will present in our annual lecture series on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 3 PM in the MetroLAB on the FAU Fort Lauderdale campus.

Madeline Gannon is internationally recognized for pioneering new models of human-machine communication and for her captivating performances, installations, and research which explore natural and intuitive connections with intelligent machines. Drawing on her groundbreaking projects at ATONATON, Gannon invents custom hardware and software to create direct, playful, and expressive interactions between humans and robots.

Gannon will delve into methods for “breathing life into machines,” drawing from her work on animating industrial robots, exploring robot companionship, and creating spatial computing interfaces. Through featured works such as Mimus CNK and collaborations with institutions like Boston Dynamics, she will reveal how technology can transform both creative practices and social relations with machines, redefining what’s possible at the frontier of robotics and design.

Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with an artist, designer, and engineer who is shaping the future of how we interact with intelligent machines.
