Wednesday, Dec 03, 2025
Florida Atlantic University’s School of Architecture is proud to welcome Luis Arturo Pacheco as Assistant Professor of Architecture and Director of the Interactive Machines Lab, who has joined us as of the Fall 2025 semester.
Pacheco brings a forward-thinking approach to architectural design, specializing in digital fabrication, responsive environments, and the integration of emerging technologies within the built world. His work examines how interactive systems, robotics, and machine intelligence can reshape spatial experience and expand the creative boundaries of contemporary architectural practice.
As Director of the Interactive Machines Lab, Pacheco will guide research and hands-on experimentation with computational tools, kinetic structures, and technologically driven fabrication methods. Students will have the opportunity to explore new forms of design agency where machines and humans collaborate, simulate, and construct together fostering a learning environment rooted in innovation and real-world applications.
The School of Architecture enthusiastically welcomes Professor Pacheco, anticipating exciting new research initiatives, cross-disciplinary partnerships, and transformative educational experiences that will help position FAU as a leader in advanced design technologies.
