Women’s Writings, The Economy,
and Social Justice in the Caribbean

A multi-disciplinary FAU faculty panel will discuss women,
social justice, music, and visual arts in Caribbean literature and the arts
that reflect pressing gender, economic, and social issues of the region,
including South Florida communities.

headlined by artist and activist Bree Newsome (pictured above)
who in 2015 removed the confederate flag from the
South Carolina Statehouse. Exhibition viewing and Reception

Decolonizing Across Disciplines
in the Americas Symposium

This symposium brings together scholars from Florida Atlantic University
and other Florida institutions to examineand discuss decolonization.
This event expands upon the discussion begun at FSU,
where the Decolonizing Refinment exhibition was originally presented.
