Subata Zannat Riya and Md Rubel Mia, two Comparative Studies PhD Students, have published an article titled, "Seeds, Water, and Storms: Women’s Knowledge as Climate Adaptation in Coastal Bangladesh" in the International Journal of Social Science Research and Review, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2025. In this insightful work, Subata explores the intersections of gender, environment, and social resilience, emphasising how ecological narratives are deeply intertwined with questions of identity, displacement, and empowerment. Her article offers a nuanced feminist perspective on environmental justice, highlighting how the relationships of women’s and marginalised communities with nature serve as both a means of survival and resistance amid social and ecological crises. This publication reflects their ongoing commitment to integrating gender analysis into global discourses on sustainability and justice. Their research continues to make meaningful contributions to the interdisciplinary field of Comparative Studies, combining feminist theory, anthropology, and environmental ethics to challenge conventional understandings of development and belonging. Through a combination of critical theory and grounded analysis, the study examines how climate vulnerability is shaped by systemic inequality and gendered labor. It calls for inclusive environmental policies that recognise care, community, and sustainability as essential foundations for justice.
