Celebrating Hassan Pishahang’s Achievements

Hassan Pishahang, Ph.D. student in Comparative Studies, has recently achieved significant academic and professional accomplishments. His research at the intersection of design, advanced materials, and digital fabrication has been recognized through multiple peer-reviewed conference acceptances and international design awards.
On the academic front, Pishahang has co-authored and presented papers at several of the most prestigious international conferences in architecture and design computing, including ACADIA 2025, CAADRIA 2025, SIGraDi 2025, and CAAD Futures 2025. He has also published scholarly work in high-impact journals such as MDPI Sensors, extending his contributions to both design theory and material innovation.
Complementing his academic research, Pishahang’s creative practice has earned him global recognition in professional design competitions. His collaborative projects have won multiple prizes, including the Gold Award in the International Design Awards (IDA) for Cultural/Community Interior Design (“Turquoise” Dental Office), Silver Awards in Lighting Design (“Cheeno Lighting” and “Helios”), as well as recognition from the SIT Design Awards for custom lighting design. Alongside Maryam Badiei and other collaborators, he has also received the People’s Choice Award in AI Design (“Jina”), the People’s Choice Award in Product Design (“Flora”), and an Honorable Mention in Furniture Design (“Embrace”).
Through this combination of scholarly research and internationally awarded design practice, Pishahang continues to push the boundaries of computational design, sustainable materials, and architectural innovation.
