The Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters at Florida Atlantic University is pleased to announce the establishment of the Arthur and Emalie Gutterman Family Ph.D. Fellowship, made possible through a generous endowment from the Guttermans. The Gutterman Family Ph.D. Fellowship, established in 2025, will support an incoming Ph.D. student pursuing research in Holocaust education, Jewish Studies, Israeli Studies, or a related field within the College.
The inaugural Arthur and Emalie Gutterman Family Ph.D. Fellowship will be awarded beginning in Fall 2026. Interested applicants should mention their interest in their statement of intent when applying to the Comparative Studies Ph.D. program. In addition to the fellowship, the selected student may also receive a graduate teaching assistantship funded by the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters.
The College extends its deepest gratitude to Arthur and Emalie Gutterman for their remarkable generosity and their enduring support of education.
