Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)

Applicants should be aware that additional requirements are necessary for the following majors:

College of Engineering and Computer Science

Admission to Florida Atlantic University does not guarantee admission to the College of Engineering and Computer Science, therefore your status is as a preliminary engineering major (pre-engineering). Please refer to the college's website at fau.edu/engineering for detailed information on the admissions criteria.

To declare a major in the college, students must successfully complete MAC2311 and PHY2048 with Lab, and average at least a 2.25 - 2.5 GPA in these courses. Math Boot Camp will be required for any students that have not successfully completed required math courses.

Charles E. Schmidt College of Science

Science core courses must have been completed with a C or higher but a competitive GPA is preferred for most Science majors. Students interested in Pre-Med and who plan to go to medical school should visit the  Pre-Health Professions Office.

Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing

Admission to the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing's Freshman Direct Admit track, Accelerated track, and the RN to BSN track is determined by the College. A supplemental application with the college is required. For information, please visit the College of Nursing homepage.
