As such, our research interests represent an inclusive sphere of interdisciplinary themes focused on neuroscience, cancer, obesity, healthy aging, physiology, inflammation, infectious diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, biophysics, and drug discovery. Schmidt College of Science faculty can rely on a well-managed infrastructure to support their research efforts.
The Charles E. Schmidt College of Science seeks outstanding Assistant Professors to contribute to a vibrant and growing community of scholar-educators.
By virtue of its location in South Florida, FAU offers tremendous professional and educational opportunities in environmental science. Our six linked campuses are located within minutes of the Everglades and a host of major freshwater ecosystem restoration and water quality monitoring efforts, the Atlantic Ocean, and a low-lying metropolis grappling with the twinned challenges posed by burgeoning population growth and sea-level rise. FAU is poised to face these challenges with a growing and coordinated group of environmental faculty and students spanning multiple departments, centers, institutes, and colleges.
FAU Internal Assets
The College’s faculty and programs extend across the University’s 120 mile South Florida service region, including Davie, Boca Raton, Jupiter, and the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute (HBOI). Each campus offers unique opportunities for research and students training.
