Faculty Assembly Research and Scholarship Committee

The Research and Scholarship Faculty Committee comprises representatives from the Biomedical Science Department and Clinical Science Departments, aiming for equitable representation. Eligibility includes an M.D., D.O., or Ph.D., with research activity evidence. The Senior Associate Dean for Research is a permanent non-voting member. Members serve staggered one- or two-year terms, with up to three consecutive terms or six years of eligibility. Monthly meetings have attendance expectations, and recommendations are communicated in writing to key stakeholders. The committee elects two Chairs serving two-year terms, fostering research and scholarship while ensuring representation and accountability.

The mission of FAUCOM RSC is to assist with the development and implementation of resources to enhance trainee (medical student, resident, fellow) participation in research and other scholarly activities as a whole. The Committee will make resource recommendations to the Dean, UME curricular recommendations to the COMCC, and GME curricular recommendations to the GMEC.
