FAU Max Planck Honors Program
Designed to further the scholarship of academically talented students at FAU, the only Max Planck Institute located in North America (out of only 83 such facilities worldwide) focuses specifically on neuroscience and is offered on FAU's Jupiter campus. With National Merit Scholars having preferred admission into the program, if you are accepted into the MPHP you are offered exclusive electives, specifically unique to the program and Max Planck faculty and research infrastructure.
The program empowers you to work with world-class faculty researchers through summer research, and includes the opportunity of directed independent research and an honors thesis with program faculty.
Cutting-edge neuroscience training courses include technologies such as super resolution microscopy, electron microscopy, electrophysiology and opto-genetic technology. In addition, the program provides a comprehensive introductory “topics in neuroscience” course; career development workshops for scientists; participation in seminar series and a journal club run by postdoctoral fellows and faculty, access to international symposia with opportunities for students to present their research to Nobel laureates, and participating in state of the art research and techniques in neuroscience taught by teams of world renowned scientists and introducing students to a broad range of scientific and technical expertise. This truly is an opportunity that exists only at FAU!
