Honors Opportunities

By virtue of your being part of the National Merit Scholars program, you are afforded several different opportunities to pursue honors level academics during your time at FAU.

Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College (Jupiter, FL)

National Merit semi-finalists and finalists who are admitted to FAU are automatically invited to the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College in Jupiter. Located about 40 minutes from the main FAU campus in Boca Raton, the nation’s only university-affiliated, free-standing honors college, the close-knit, residential, highly-selective liberal arts and sciences college offers a distinctive all-honors curriculum and is surrounded by world-renowned scientific research institutes, and is a nationally recognized honors college expereince in a smaller student-centric environment.

University Honors Program (Boca Raton, FL)

The Boca Raton campus hosts the University Honors Program. The program has been designed to provide students with exceptional and rewarding learning opportunities through special Honors Courses and the option of taking more advanced courses to substitute for first-year required courses. 

Honors In the Major (Boca Raton, FL)

The Honors in the Major Program is open to all qualified upper-division students. These honors programs are offered in select departments within each of the colleges that offers outstanding students the option to explore an expanded view of their future profession and the broader social context of their work.
