Bachelor's/M.D. (BS-MD) Dual Degree Programs
The FAU Schmidt College of Medicine proudly offers two programs which allow outstanding students the opportunity to achieve both their B.S. and M.D. degrees in 7-8 years.
The application and admissions timeline on the BS-MD website is applicable for ALL students (including FAU High School) but requirements differ for each population.
If you are a student attending high school other than FAU High, please visit the BS-MD requirements website.
If you are an FAU High student interested in the BS-MD program or medical school in general, please speak with your counselor by the 9th grade and visit this site.
You will first need to be admitted to FAU as an undergraduate student. Following that, you'll then apply using the instructions on the above website on this page. Upon completion of all program requirements, students can then apply for conditional admission to the Schmidt College of Medicine provided they maintain and meet the required program standards. One of only three such programs in Florida, many National Merit Scholars choose to accept and pursue this route to their M.D. career.
STUDENTS MUST CHOOSE FAU AS THEIR FIRST CHOICE SCHOOL BEFORE OR ON MAY 1 IN ORDER TO RECEIVE NATIONAL MERIT FUNDING AS WELL AS TO SECURE THEIR PLACE IN THIS PROGRAM.
You will need to be accepted by both undergraduate admissions, in addition to the College of Medicine, into this highly selective and rigorous program can choose one of two paths:
