American Institute of Architects Awards Scholarships to FAU Students

Seven FAU School of Architecture students won scholarships from American Institute of Architects (AIA) Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach Chapters, one of the largest amounts given to FAU students between the two AIA chapters.

"The School of Architecture is honored to have the continued support of the Fort Lauderdale Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and its annual scholarship program that supports Florida Atlantic University School of Architecture students," said Jeffrey E. Huber, Interim Director of the School of Architecture. "In the last two years our students have benefitted from $12,000 in funding and we are truly honored for their support. We are also humbled by AIA Palm Beach’s continued support of our students with their scholarship program."

Jessica Urchoili One of the winners, Jessica Urchoili who expects to graduate in Spring 2021, plans to get licensed in interior design and becoming a licensed architect.

"During the next five years, I plan on getting a masters in Architecture to further my knowledge as well as to lead me closer to the goal of eventually teaching," said Urchoili, a daughter of Russian immigrants who lives in Lake Worth with her husband and two-year-old daughter.
