Ebow Tawiah Nketsiah, PhD, MSW

 

 

Ebow Tawiah Nketsiah, PhD, MSW, is an assistant professor in the Phyllis and Harvey Sandler School of Social Work at Florida Atlantic University. His research focuses on aging and health, with particular emphasis on dementia care, cognitive interventions, and cross-cultural approaches to non-pharmacological treatments for neurodegenerative conditions. Dr. Nketsiah’s interdisciplinary scholarship bridges gerontology, global health, and social work practice, with a commitment to improving the quality of life for older adults through equitable, community-based strategies.

He earned his PhD in Social Work from Saint Louis University, where his dissertation examined the cross-cultural effectiveness of Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) for individuals living with dementia in the United States and Hong Kong. He also holds a Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis, with a specialization in aging societies and research, and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Ghana.

Prior to joining Florida Atlantic, Dr. Nketsiah served as a Community Health Project Coordinator at Barnes Jewish Hospital’s Oasis Institute, where he led several evidence-based programs aimed at enhancing health outcomes and quality of life for older adults across Missouri and Illinois. His practice and policy experience includes collaborative work with the Alzheimer’s Association and Washington University’s Knight Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in social policy and research methods at Saint Louis University. Dr. Nketsiah’s work has been published in national and international journals, and he remains dedicated to advancing aging-focused social work education, practice, and policy in global and multicultural contexts.
