Sterne and Ambris Recognized at Awards Dinner

Everiste Ambris, MSW, practicum coordinator for the Phyllis and Harvey Sandler School of Social Work (SSW), and Cindy Sterne, LCSW, ACSW, MCAP, ICADC, CCTP (L), SSW adjunct professor and field practicum supervisor, received prestigious awards for their work at the 2025 National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Florida Awards Dinner on March 14.

Ambris won NASW-FL Broward County "Educator of the Year" for 2025, the second time he has received the honor after first winning it in 2018. “It’s a beautiful and well-deserved recognition of a colleague who has shown tremendous dedication to our students, our school, and the field of social work,” said Patricia Temes, PhD, LCSW-QS, senior instructor in the SSW.

Sterne won NASW-FL Broward County "Social Worker of the Year" for 2025. “Cindy’s leadership, especially in substance use programs for the community, has truly made a difference,” said Dean Naelys Luna.
