Dr. Michele Hawkins Named as Professor Emerita

Former director of the Phyllis and Harvey Sandler School of Social Work as well as former Florida Atlantic University interim provost and vice provost Michele Hawkins, PhD, MSW, has received the prestigious title of Professor Emerita, the honorary title bestowed to acknowledge a career of distinction. “This well-deserved recognition celebrates Dr. Hawkins’ 25 years of meritorious service to higher education and her profound impact on the Sandler School of Social Work, Florida Atlantic University, and our surrounding communities,” said Dean Naelys Luna. “Throughout her tenure, she played a pivotal role in securing and maintaining national accreditation for our school, and she was instrumental in establishing our Master of Social Work program, now ranked among the nation's best.”
