Tootie Martin joined Florida Atlantic University from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he served as Director of Development for the Morrison Family College of Health. In that role, he led comprehensive fundraising efforts for the School of Social Work, Graduate School of Professional Psychology, Department of Health & Exercise Science, and the Susan S. Morrison School of Nursing.

With more than a decade of experience in higher education advancement, Mr. Martin previously served on the University Advancement team at Concordia University in St. Paul for 10 years. As Director of Development, he managed a significant portfolio of major and principal gift prospects, supervised major gift fundraisers, and consistently exceeded individual and team fundraising goals through strategic donor engagement and relationship-centered philanthropy.

Over the past three years at Florida Atlantic University, Mr. Martin has been instrumental in advancing transformational philanthropy for the College of Social Work and Criminal Justice. His work includes building high-impact donor partnerships, launching innovative funding initiatives, strengthening philanthropic advisory boards, and expanding community-engaged support for student success, research, and workforce development. Known for his collaborative leadership style and strategic vision, Mr. Martin is deeply committed to advancing human flourishing and institutional excellence. A Florida native born and raised in Panama City, he is proud to serve in his home state. Mr. Martin is also a PhD candidate in Higher Education Leadership at Florida Atlantic University, further grounding his work in scholarship, governance, and leadership practice.
