Spring 2021 Pre-Health Week Launches March 15

The Charles E. Schmidt College of Science at Florida Atlantic University is again bringing health related graduate programs and students together for the  2021Virtual Pre-Health Professions Week   . This year’s annual event will take place over a period of two weeks. The events will begin on Monday, March 15, and run through Thursday, March 25, 2021. The college’s Pre-Health Professions Office will kick off the week with a health fair organized by the student organizations, as well as a physicians panel and a medical student admissions panel. On Pre-Health Professions Day, admissions representatives will be in attendance from a variety of health related graduate schools and programs including medical, dental, pharmacy, physician assistant, physical therapy, occupational therapy, podiatry, chiropractic, veterinary medicine, optometry, and many more

Pre-Health Professions Day(s) will take place via ZOOM on Thursday, March 18, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Monday, March 22, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The events throughout the two weeks are free and open to all FAU students and alumni.

Pre-Health Professions Day is an opportunity for FAU’s undergraduates, graduates, and the community to talk personally with admissions representatives from various health related graduate and professional programs.  The admissions representatives are available to share information about specific programs, answer related questions, and provide information about unique opportunities within their program. Some of the many schools and programs scheduled to appear to include the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, Florida International University School of Medicine, University of South Florida College of Medicine, Florida State University College of Medicine, Florida Atlantic University College of Medicine, University of Miami College of Medicine, Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, University of Alabama School of Dentistry, Palm Beach Atlantic University College of Pharmacy, plus many more.  

Although the events this year will be virtual, we have 10 Pre-Health Professions student organizations we are collaborating with. The student organizations are working hard to provide virtual workshops and activities for the health professions fair. Activities planned for the fair include, how to be a competitive applicant during the pandemic, Tips on the MCAT Exam, and more.
