Record 13 Schmidt College of Science Graduates Begin Medical School at Florida Atlantic

Congratulations to the record-breaking 13 Charles E. Schmidt College of Science May graduates who recently started the next chapter of their education as medical students at Florida Atlantic’s Schmidt College of Medicine.
The 80 incoming members of the Class of 2030 were formally inducted into the program during the college’s traditional White Coat Ceremony on August 7. During the event, students were ceremonially cloaked with doctors’ white coats and took the physician’s oath, marking their commitment to the profession of healing.
“This milestone is a testament to the talent, hard work and perseverance of our students,” said Evonne Rezler, Ph.D., senior associate dean for undergraduate studies, Charles E. Schmidt College of Science. “Seeing a record number of our graduates continue their journeys as future physicians reflects the strength of our students and their preparation. We look forward to witnessing the positive impact they will make on the field of medicine.”
Eleven of the new MedOwls took advantage of the numerous programming and support services offered by the dedicated team in the Office of Pre-Health Professions within the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science. From curriculum counseling to tailored guidance on medical school applications to MCAT test preparation tips, the college’s Pre-Health team provides comprehensive support for students who wish to pursue medical programs.
“Guiding and supporting such exceptional students on their paths to medical school has been a privilege, and their achievements are truly inspirational,” expressed Gina Jones, director of the college’s Pre-Health Professions Office.
