Florida Women in Mathematics Day 2020

The AWM chapter hosted its official second annual Florida Women in Mathematics Day-Conference also known as FWIMD. This event was an effort to collaborate with people from all levels of mathematics to share their support for women in stem fields. AWM is also passionate about outreach and community involvement so it was great to expose new generations to opportunities in a variety of mathematical topics.

This year's FWIMD theme was dance and mathematics! You can find more information on the FWIMD2020 website about our keynote speaker, Nancy Scherich, Visiting Assistant Professor in the Math Department at Wake Forest University, who creates videos using dance as a communication tool to explain complex mathematical concepts. Who knew math and dance would ever merge!
