A Message from the President and First Lady

We are thrilled to invite you to take part in something transformational — the Presidential Mentorship and Career Internship Program. This initiative offers a unique opportunity to invest in the lives of our students and the future of our state and nation through the powerful tool of mentorship.

At Florida Atlantic, one-third of our students are the first in their families to attend college, and 40% come from low-income households. These talented young people have remarkable potential — and they need champions who can guide them on their journey. Your mentorship can be the difference that helps them soar.

Why Mentor

A mentor and a mentee with a laptop collaborating at a shared table—one smiling and facing the camera, the other turned away. The setting suggests a learning center focused on technology and communication.
  • Increased persistence: students are more likely to stay enrolled and on track.
  • Improved academic performance: clearer goals and study strategies.
  • Enhanced campus engagement: stronger connections and use of resources.
  • Personal development: confidence, professionalism, and social adjustment.

How the Program Works

Two people talk across a round table in a warmly decorated office, suggesting a counseling or mentoring session.

Below you will find a form to complete, which will notify us of your interest in becoming a mentor. The more initial information you share, like background, availability and interests, the better we can pair you with the right student.

  • Who: This is open to alumni, professionals and community members to match with both undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Time: We anticipate you dedicating about one hour each week to help the student set goals, track progress and simple check-in.
  • Once accepted into the program, there will be a short training orientation. And, throughout your commitment, you will access to a specialized toolkit or resources and a program coordinator for any questions.

Thank you again for your time and expertise to help us change the lives of our students. Let’s get started!
