Biography
Dr. Rachel Pyngolil is a board‑certified internal medicine physician with expertise in women’s health, preventive care, chronic disease management and an interest in medical education and health equity. She earned her MD and MPH in Global Health Practice from the University of South Florida, completed residency at the Rhode Island and Miriam Hospitals through the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, and served as chief resident for the Naples Healthcare System affiliate of the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science in the inaugural year of the program. After her chief year, she relocated to South Florida and cared for medically underserved populations in Miami‑Dade County. During her time in clinical practice, she has held faculty and preceptor roles with Florida International University, Nova Southeastern University, and the University of Miami, developing rotations, designing curricula on evidence‑based practice and health equity, and mentoring learners at all levels. Most recently, she served as volunteer faculty for the University of Miami’s Internal Medicine Residency at Holy Cross Hospital, while also providing direct primary care to patients within the system. In July 2025, she joined Florida Atlantic University’s Internal Medicine Residency as Associate Program Director, devoting her clinical time to preceptorship in the residency continuity clinic at Bethesda Hospital East. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her son, learning about different cultures and languages and has a great love for the magic of Disney.
