Biography

Dr. Adam Demner joined the faculty of the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine in November 2020 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Integrated Medical Science and serves as the Director of Addiction Psychiatry for the Psychiatry Residency Training Program. He holds a B.S. in Neurobiological Sciences from the University of Florida, and an M.D. from the New York Medical College. Dr. Demner completed his residency at the New York Presbyterian Hospital Psychiatry Residency Training Program and served as Chief Resident in the Psychiatry Department. He completed his fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at New York University/Bellevue Hospital. He has served at the Coordinator, psychiatric services at the Opioid Addiction Treatment Program, Unit Chief & Medical Director of the Chemical Dependency Outpatient Program and the Site Director for the Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at Bellevue Hospital.

Dr. Demner is board certified in General Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry and is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry.
