Gertrude Investigates

Grumpy Gertrude (T159) is a conspicuous and defiant gopher tortoise at our main study site at the Abacoa Greenway in Jupiter, Fla. She can be very defensive about her burrow and is the only gopher tortoise that has tried to bite me. We have been following Gertrude's movements and burrow use for the last five years.
