Measurement of NAD levels in individuals with and without Alzheimer's Disease using 1H-MRS
About this Study
The study will detect changes in brain levels of the molecule NAD in Alzheimer's disease for future use as a biomarker supporting therapeutic development.
Participation Eligibility:
We are recruiting 10 healthy volunteers and 10 Alzheimer's patients between age 65 and 80. Volunteers will dedicate two mornings, 8 months apart, to the study.
You Cannot Participate if:
- You are under 65 or over 80 years old.
- You believe you can't rest quietly in an MRI machine.
- You have certain types of pacemakers or other electronic devices.
- You work at night.
- You have cancer or were diagnosed with cancer within the last 5 years.
Benefits of Participation:
- We will provide a $50 gift card to defray transportation costs.
- You will help researchers accelerate the development of treatments to slow or stop the progression of Alzheimer's.
