Simulation Center Certifications and Courses
The following professional certifications are offered by the FAU Clinical Skills Simulation Center under the auspices of various charter organizations; the American Heart Association (BLS, ACLS, PALS), and Advanced Trauma Life Support – Training Support Center - (ATLS). These courses are taught by request and utilize the CSSC facilities, taking full advantage of our full-body high fidelity mannequins. Many other organizations teach these courses, but the CSSC reinforces hands-on training with resuscitation on our mannequins. During the training, if the participants provide inadequate ventilation, compression, or medication, the victims will expire. The patient experiencing the effects of a mega code will present with the symptoms appropriate for that patient. The participants get a chance to interact as if in a real-life situation. This expanded training provides a more realistic and educational experience for the participants.
