Selected Service

Dr. Taylor’s service to the profession reflects a sustained commitment to strengthening special education, applied behavior analysis, and teacher preparation. Throughout his career, he has contributed through professional leadership, program development, accreditation, student mentoring, and collaboration with schools, professional organizations, and state agencies.

Dr. Taylor has coordinated accreditation, curriculum redesign, faculty supervision, student recruitment, field-based experiences, advising, and community partnerships. He has served on professional conference selection committees for the Council for Exceptional Children, as treasurer of the Florida Teacher Education Division of CEC, and on university committees focused on recruitment, distance education, technology, admissions, hiring, and instructional innovation. Dr. Taylor collaborated with the Florida Department of Education and Pearson to develop and validate items for the Exceptional Student Education Florida Teacher Certification Examination and the state’s ESE Test Information Guide. In addition, Dr. Taylor has supported educators and behavior analysts through professional development, supervision, consultation, and continuing education, and has served as a Subject Matter Specialist for the Distance Education Accreditation Commission. Across these roles, his service is grounded in a commitment to advancing evidence-based practice, supporting educators and professionals, and improving educational opportunities and outcomes for students.
