Challenge Course - FAQs

Participants must be 10 years old and the inform consent must have the signature of their guardian.

Due to payment requirements and staffing needs, please schedule challenge course programs 20 or more business days in advance.

Parking is available in LOT 12 by the softball field. Day passes are available for purchase online at fau.edu/parking. Do NOT back into spaces.

Outdoor Recreation & Experiential Education is not responsible for parking tickets incurred by participants.

The Outdoor Recreation & Experiential Education Team makes every effort to notify groups of possible inclement weather that may affect a scheduled program. If inclement weather is expected in advance of a program, OREE may cancel the program. If OREE cancels a program due to weather, reasonable efforts will be made to provide an alternate date. Refunds related to weather issues will be offered on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed.

All scheduled programs will continue in the event of light to moderate rain. Facilitators will determine whether conditions are too dangerous to continue programming and may move events under shelter or to another pre-determined location. Facilitators will receive lightning alerts through the University alert system. In the event of a lightning alert during a program, groups will be directed to a covered area to continue activities. Groups may continue on the Challenge Course once an all-clear is issued. Once you provide proof of non-profit status, such as 501c3 or DR14 you will qualify for the non-profit rates.

To hold your reservation, the non-refundable deposit must be paid upon receipt of the invoice or shortly thereafter. Failure to pay the deposit in a timely manner may result in your group’s preferred date being released to another group who is ready to pay. The remaining balance must be paid 10 business days prior to your program. Failure to pay in full by this date may result in your event being cancelled.

Cancellations made at least 10 business days before program date will receive a full refund less a 5% cancellation fee. Cancellations made within 10 business days of program date will not be eligible for a refund

If necessary, groups may reschedule their program up to three times in one fiscal year (July 1 - June 30). This change must be requested more than 10 business days prior to the scheduled program. We are unable to accommodate requests to reschedule if made less than 10-business days before the program.
