Office of Appreciative Education
Imagine educational spaces where conversations focus on potential, challenges are opportunities for growth, and learning environments are places of possibility and purpose. Through professional development offerings, the Office of Appreciative Education provides theory-to-practice tools to empower you—whether you're guiding a student, leading a team, or shaping an institution—to bring this vision to life.
"Appreciative Advising is the intentional and collaborative practice of asking positive, open-ended questions that help students optimize their educational experiences and achieve their dreams, goals, and potentials (Bloom, Hutson, & He, 2008)" from Bloom et al., 2013, p. 83).
"Appreciative Education is a framework for delivering high-quality education on both an individual and organizational level. It provides an intentional and positive approach to bettering educational enterprises by focusing on the strengths and potential of individuals and organizations to accomplish co-created goals (Bloom et al., 2013)."
