Dr. Alan Berger, PJHR Faculty Fellow and Raddock Family Eminent Scholar Chair for Holocaust Studies, has edited a series of books on genocide, the deliberate and systematic annihilation of a group of people through violence and oppression. Volumes in the series include  Jihad and Genocide (2010) by Richard Rubenstein;  Balkan Genocides: Holocaust and Ethnic Cleansing in the Twentieth Century (2012) by Paul Mojzes; and  Native America and the Question of Genocide (2015) by Alex Alvarez. The series will be of interest to scholars and students in a variety of fields, including genocide studies, political science, history, and criminal justice, as well as interested laypeople. Click here for more information. 


 Human Rights Day 2014

 Several leading legislators continued the push for equity during Human Rights Day at the Florida Capitol. State Senator Dwight Bullard from Miami, brought in noted leaders in education and human rights. Dr. Rose Gatens, serving as Director of the Center for Holocaust and Human Rights Education at the time at Florida Atlantic University and Gracia Bennish, President of United for Human Rights Florida were just two of the presenters. More…
