Dr. Terry Eggenberger

Bio
Dr. Terry Eggenberger is the Executive Director of Interprofessional Education and Practice, Office of the Provost at Florida Atlantic University, Associate Professor in the College of Nursing, and Clinical Associate Affiliate in the College of Medicine. She has been leading interprofessional (IP) education and practice since 2008 and more recently led initiatives to address the needs of medically underserved ethnically diverse, vulnerable populations requiring diabetes and mental health telehealth services in South Florida through a NEPQR HRSA grant. She has published on IP initiatives and presented nationally and internationally on team science and communication.

Aloha Balza

Bio
Aloha Balza is the Assistant Director for the Office of Interprofessional Education and Practice at Florida Atlantic University. She works collaboratively to create and implement interprofessional programming for medical, nursing, and social work students. Her responsibilities include collecting and reporting IPE&P assessment data and use it to improve programming quality and reach. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from New York University and her Master of Public Administration degree from Florida Atlantic University. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the School for Public Administration at FAU.

Dr. Heather Howard

Bio

Dr. Heather Howard is an Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at Florida Atlantic University. Her research and clinical expertise focus on gender-specific and trauma-informed care for women that reduces stigma and encourages health empowerment.  She has been awarded several local and national foundation grants for clinical research involving women’s health issues such as substance use disorders and trauma. Prior to her current, tenure-track position at Florida Atlantic University, she was a perinatal social worker specializing in perinatal mental health and maternal substance use for over 20 years.  She also coordinated the Integrated Healthcare certificate at Wheelock College incorporating classes on health policy, health disparities, and substance use prevention and treatment in healthcare. Her clinical and research expertise focused on the treatment of grief and loss, trauma, shared-decision making training for perinatal providers, and prevention and treatment of substance use disorders at a Brown University-based birthing hospital.

Dr. Candy Wilson

Bio
Candy Wilson, PhD, APRN, WHNP-BC, FAANP FAAN is an honorable retired US Air Force Colonel. During her active duty military service, she served in various nursing roles at nine military assignments from bedside clinical care, primary care provider, leadership and acdemia. While in Afghanistan, she provided primary care for women and children in remote villages with other interprofessional colleagues. These experiences contributed to her joint military decoration "Defense Superior Service Medal". She has taught 38 doctoral-level courses at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. In addition to her more than 50 publications and nearly $19M in research funding, Dr. Wilson is a TeamSTEPPS master trainer.

Dr. Stacy Rubin

Bio
Stacy Rubin, MD, FACP is the newly appointed Associate Director for the FAU Office of Interprofessional Education and Practice for the College of Medicine. She also serves as the Director of the Foundations of Medicine Curriculum at COM. Prior to coming to FAU, Dr. Rubin served as Associate Program Director for the University of Miami’s Regional Internal Medicine Residency Program at Holy Cross Health for six years. Dr. Rubin has a passion for Academic General Internal Medicine and has special interests in women’s health, teaching clinical and communication skills, simulation, promoting women in medicine and advocating for persons identifying as underrepresented minorities. She is a graduate of the Society of General Internal Medicine’s prestigious TEACH Scholars program and has served in various roles on the Florida Chapter of the American College of Physicians Governors’ Advisory Board since 2014. Dr. Rubin is board-certified in Internal Medicine. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and her medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Bio
Dr. Mariette Sourial received her PharmD from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She completed an ambulatory care PGY-1 residency through the University of Minnesota in 2011. In 2011, she joined Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Gregory School of Pharmacy as an assistant professor of pharmacy practice and was later promoted to associate professor, where she teaches various topics in the pharmacotherapy series and coordinates and facilitates skills-based courses. She currently serves as the director of interprofessional education within the School of Pharmacy and the associate director for the Office of Interprofessional Education and Practices at Florida Atlantic University.
