Collegiate peer leaders play an integral role in supporting students and offer numerous benefits to their peers, the university, and themselves. However, there is limited published research and consensus on how best to train peer leaders to have a positive impact on their peers (Abrahamson et al., 2019). This webinar explores groundbreaking research on the integration of Appreciative Education strategies and techniques into the training of peer leaders, specifically peer advisors, received at a four-year public university. Together, we will discuss key considerations and ways Appreciative Education can be applied to peer leadership training. Whether you work with peer advisors, orientation leaders, or any of the various ways students undertake leadership roles, this webinar is for you.
