'Soul of an Octopus'

Walking for Autism
FAU Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute (SNBI) raised more than $1,000 to support autism research, education and service during the annual Autism Speaks Walk in West Palm Beach, Fla.
The SNBI Neurosquad team, which provides hands on neuroscience experiences for youth, walked in partnership with FAU Center for Autism and Related Disabilities as part of the Brainy Days program.
Brainy Days Finale
The monthlong Brainy Days celebration concluded with an educational event called "When Science Links with the Arts: Research and Alternative Therapies for Parkinson’s and Other Neurodegenerative Diseases.”
Featured speakers included Beth Elgort, Mind, Music and Movement Foundation; Randy, Blakely, Ph.D., executive director, FAU Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute; Julie Pilitsis, Ph.D., MD, FAU College of Medicine; and Henriette van Praag, Ph.D., Brain Institute. The event included a special performance by the Voices of Parkinson’s Chorus, as well as movement, dance and meditation demonstrations.
Mind, Music, & Movement Foundation for Neurological Disorders, classes are slated to begin late spring at the Brain Institute. The classes include dance for fluidity, yoga and movement.
