Advanced Training
Students whose career ambitions include international diplomatic service can take advantage of unique opportunities to attend diplomatic conferences, compete globally in Model UN simulations and receive advanced training at home and abroad.
In 2010, three students were selected to attend the Review Conference of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Conference in New York City as part of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom. The students spent the first three days in New York undergoing extensive training in order to effectively represent the Women’s League in the Review Conference. At the conference, the students met with United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, diplomats and UN personnel.

In 2011, select students will travel to Sarajevo, Bosnia to attend the Global Youth Connect Summer Human Rights Symposium. The two-week session allows participants the opportunity to meet with Bosnian NGOs working on issues of human rights, community development, youth empowerment, and conflict resolution. The program will also include a workshop with Bosnian youth and the opportunity to work hands-on with local organizations to assist them in their daily activities.
Also in 2011, FAU Diplomacy Program students will travel to Inchon, South Korea to represent the university at the Global Model United Nations simulation.
