HOW TO REGISTER FOR A FIRST-YEAR EXPERIENCE CLASS

  • Watch our video tutorial to learn how to register for the SLS section that matches your major.

  • Choose a section that matches your declared major and college. For example, Pre-Business students should register for a Business (BU) FIG.

    • If you are undecided, you can register for a UN (Undecided) FIG.
    • If you are part of FAU Online, choose section E01 or E02.
  • To register for an SLS class, search for the course (SLS 1411 or SLS 1412) and use your college’s specific 3-digit section number listed below.
  • All First-Year Interest Groups and Learning Community courses are 8 weeks long, running from August 22 to October 16, 2026.
