Scholarships
APPLICATIONS FOR FALL 2026/SPRING 2027

THEODORE R. AND VIVIAN M. JOHNSON SCHOLARSHIP
- Amount awarded varies and there is no set number of recipients.
Applications:
Applicant Criteria:
- Undergraduate FAU student in good standing with 2.0 GPA, or an accepted incoming student
- Florida Resident
- First time Bachelor's degree
- At least 9 credit hours per semester (Fall and Spring)
What needs to be submitted?
- A completed Johnson Scholarship Application
- A current official transcript (students applying as a first semester freshman should provide their high school transcript) showing a 2.0 grade point average
- A personal statement (no more than one double-spaced page) about your achievements, activities, career goals, and the effects of your disability(ies)
- Two letters of reference addressing your academic success and potential
DAMON ANTHONY BETTENDORF SCHOLARSHIP
- Amount: $500 (1 Award)
- Criteria:
- Currently enrolled FAU undergraduate student in good standing with 2.5 GPA or an accepted incoming student
- Documented visual impairment (minimally legally blind after best possible correction)
- Must successfully complete a minimum of 9 credits per semester
STERLING H. HUNTINGTON, M.D., AND LAURA HUNTINGTON SCHOLARSHIP FOR STUDENTS WITH PHYSICAL DISABILITIES
- Amount: $500 (3 awards)
- Criteria:
- Currently enrolled undergraduate/graduate FAU student in good standing with 2.0 GPA or an accepted incoming student
- Documented physical impairment
- Must successfully complete a minimum of 3 credits per semester
- Must reside in the City of Boca Raton, the Greater Boca Raton area, or Palm Beach County
