Does Student Accessibility Services offer on campus testing to diagnose Learning Disabilities, ADHD, and Psychological Disorders?
SAS does not offer diagnostic testing at this time, however, SAS does have a list of off campus diagnosticians to whom we frequently refer students for professional assessment.
Does Student Accessibility Services offer transportation for students?
SAS does not provide special transportation for students with disabilities. However, Florida Atlantic University does offer on campus transportation for students. The three options are as follows:
Owl Express Shuttle: Parking and Transportation Services provides a free on-campus shuttle service designed to help move people quickly around campus. Riding the shuttle will allow you to park your car in the morning and move between classes without having to find another parking space on campus.
Night Owls Boca: The Night Owls program is a student run evening escort service. FAU students who need a ride to or from class, the library, residence halls, parking lots, or any other location on the Boca Raton Campus can call the Night Owls for a free ride. Night Owls operate from 7 p.m. - 1 a.m., Monday-Friday. Call 561-297-6695 for a ride!
Night Owls Davie: This Night Owls program is a student run service that promotes campus safety by providing students who need a ride to or from class, the library, parking lots, or another location on the Davie Campus. Students will be able to call for a free ride. Night Owls operate from 7 – 11 p.m. Monday – Thursday.
Officer Escorts: When the Night Owls are not available, escorts are provided by police officers or student community officers during hours of darkness for persons walking on campus. This service is available to students, staff, faculty and University visitors.
Does Student Accessibility Services offer personal care assistance?
SAS does not have auxiliary personal care assistance. That service is the sole responsibility of the student.
Does Student Accessibility Services offer Orientation and Mobility Training?
