One-Time Retention Bonus

Florida Atlantic University will provide a one-time retention bonus in the amount of 2.5% of an eligible employee’s base salary (as of 10/01/2025) or $1,500, whichever is greater. This bonus is in recognition of our employees’ contributions to the University community and the continued high cost of living in our area. This one-time retention bonus will be reflected in the November 26, 2025, paycheck.

Eligibility:

Eligible employees are Faculty (In-Unit and Out-of-Unit), Administrative Managerial Professionals (AMP), Support Personnel (SP), and Postdoc who:

  1. Have been employed on or before July 1, 2025.
  2. Have not received a Notice of Separation, Non-Reappointment, or Layoff.
  3. Are still actively employed as of November 15, 2025.
  4. Part-time employees shall receive an amount prorated based on the full-time equivalent (FTE) of the position held.
  5. DROP employees are eligible.
  6. Employees whose positions are included in a collective bargaining unit (Faculty In-Unit (FAU United Faculty of Florida) and Police (Florida Atlantic University/Palm Beach County Police Benevolent Association).

Exceptions:

  1. Employees who are covered by an individual employment agreement or contract.
  2. Employees classified Temporary/OPS (Other Personnel Services), which include adjunct faculty, and all student employment classifications (student employees, Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA), and Graduate Research Assistant (GRA)).
  3. The College of Medicine, designated as a “Special Unit” and separately funded by the Florida legislature, may develop its own program for the College of Medicine Out-Of-Unit Faculty and employees.
