Dr. María D. Vásquez
Biography (En Español)
I am an associate professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Research Methodology at Florida Atlantic University with primary responsibilities in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in educational research, educational measurement, and educational statistics. I am also the lead instructor for EDF 3430, Educational Measurement and Evaluation, and Educational Research/ Methods, and I oversee all EDF 3430 and EDF 6481 sections across four campuses. I was honored to receive the 2021 Scholar of the Year Award in the College of Education for my contribution to research scholarship within and outside FAU, and I was also recognized as the 2024 Distinguished Undergraduate Mentor of the Year for the College of Education. I have published over 30 peer-reviewed articles, including book chapters, among others. I have served as the Executive Editor of the Florida Journal of Educational Research and serve on the editorial boards of other peer-reviewed journals, and as a reviewer of other journals. My research focuses on assessment literacy and research capital as they are critical to support individuals with the tools to make sense of data and be critical of their knowing, learning, teaching, and inquiry.

Biografía
Soy profesora asociada del Departamento de Liderazgo Educativo y Metodología de la Investigación en la Universidad Atlántica de la Florida, y mis principales responsabilidades son la instrucción de cursos de pregrado y posgrado en investigación, medición y estadística educativa. También soy la instructora principal de EDF 3430, Medición y Evaluación Educativa, y EDF 6481, Investigación Educativa/Métodos, y superviso todas las secciones de EDF 3430 y EDF 6481 en cuatro campus. Tuve el honor de recibir el Premio al Erudito del Año 2021 de la Facultad de Educación por mi contribución a la investigación académica, y también fui reconocida como la Mentora Distinguida de Pregrado del Año 2024 de la Facultad de Educación. Mi reseña de publicaciones incluye artículos y capítulos de libros revisados por pares, entre otros. He sido editora ejecutiva del Florida Journal of Educational Research y miembro de los consejos editoriales de otras revistas, además de revisora en otras revistas con revisión por pares. Mi investigación se centra en la alfabetización en evaluación y el capital de investigación, ya que son fundamentales para brindar a las personas las herramientas necesarias para interpretar los datos y ser críticos con su conocimiento, aprendizaje, enseñanza e indagación.
