On January 26th, 2024, we had a lecture given on cybersecurity by Dr. Nataliia Neshenko from the College of Business on “Transforming cybersecurity with artificial intelligence”. She defined what Artificial Intelligence is, the value of it when it comes to cybersecurity, and how cybercriminals attack and can misuse the use of AI. She shared enlightening examples on benefits of using this tool as well as the level of awareness people must have when interacting with such a resource.

She compared Strong AI vs Weak AI and different areas where it could be used which creates benefits compared to some of its limitations.

“BY 2025, CYBERCRIME WILL COST THE WORLD ECONOMY AN AVERAGE OF $10.5 TRILLION PER YEAR”

This quote certainly captures the importance for our trainees to be educated and well prepared for what the future holds.

Always a pleasure to have, Dr. Neshenko, from The College of Business share some insight with our Data Science students.
