Center Of Research Excellence (CoRE)

The purpose of the CoRE is to increase knowledge and optimize research endeavors through consultation and training in inquiry, research, evaluation, assessment, and analysis. While funding opportunities are available for existing or large-scale research projects, there are limited resources for early-career researchers or those who may need support in specific areas of a research project.

To meet the varying needs of colleges and departments, the CoRE offers a unique service in which faculty from a college or department can access methodologists for consultation or support on research projects. This service is particularly valuable to early-career researchers or those who may not have maintained their skills in specific methodologies or modelling.

We offer individual and group training/support (partial list) in:

  • Research Design
  • Survey Development
  • Creating Data Collection Instruments (e.g., REDCap)
  • Statistical Analysis
  • Gaining IRB Approval
  • Creating Statistical Analysis Plans (SAP)
  • Creating Data Management Plans (DMP)
  • Documenting (Assessment) the current state of a program or issue
  • Evaluating the quality of an educational curriculum or program
  • Building collaborations among researchers throughout the institution and the local community
