Kristin Bird, CFRE, joins Florida Atlantic University as Director of Development for the College of Education (COE). She will be responsible for working with the Dean to plan strategy for development and fundraising based on information gathered from meetings with COE leadership and faculty.

“We are excited to have Kristin work with us to identify ways to cultivate donors for our College,” stated COE Dean Stephen Silverman, Ed.D. “She brings 15 years of higher education fundraising experience building advancement infrastructure and securing private philanthropic support from individuals, corporations and foundations.”

Previously, Kristin led the development efforts for the Division of Undergraduate Education at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis in Indianapolis. Prior to that, she served as a director of development for Florida International University in Miami and in donor relations and stewardship roles in the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami in Miami and the University of Florida (UF) Foundation in Gainesville, Fla. Kristin graduated from UF with a bachelor’s degree in tourism and hospitality and is a Certified Fundraising Executive.

"I have witnessed firsthand the life-expanding difference that philanthropy can make in the lives of those it touches," said Kristin. She plans to be a partner and leader for securing new resources to advance COE impact and reach for student learning and success.
