Nominate the Distinguished Teacher of the Year

Deadline: January 20, 2025

Students are asked to submit nominations for the 2025 Distinguished Teacher of the Year Award, which will be awarded at the spring Honors Convocation ceremony on April 9, 2025. The Distinguished Teacher of the Year (DTOY) Award is the highest recognition of teaching at FAU. The recipient receives a cash award and delivers the keynote address at the Honors Convocation ceremony.

Here’s How It Works:

1.      Who Can Be Nominated?

You can nominate any tenure-earning or tenured professor (Professor, Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor). Note that administrators (except department chairs), past DTOY recipients, adjuncts, instructors, and visiting faculty are not eligible.

2.      Selection Process:

A student committee from each College will choose one finalist from the nominations. Then, a university-wide committee of student representatives will evaluate the finalists based on their teaching, scholarship, research, and involvement in student activities and the community.

This is your chance to give a shout-out to the professors who inspire you and contribute to your success. Thanks for taking part!
