More than 2,700 students are becoming alumni this week as FAU celebrates fall commencement during five ceremonies.

FAU has received a $2 million gift from emeritus professor and alumnus Eric Shaw ’72, ’73, Ph.D.

Last night, we cut the ribbon on the new Schmidt Family Complex for Academic and Athletic Excellence, a facility that will usher in a new era of success for FAU.

The university will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 25 and Friday, Nov. 26. Happy Thanksgiving, Owls!

This year marks the golden anniversary of the founding of Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute in Fort Pierce, which joined the FAU family in 2007.

Julie G. Pilitsis, M.D., Ph.D., will join FAU as our new dean of the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine.

On Thursday, Nov. 11, we will observe Veterans Day. No classes will be held on Thursday and most university offices will be closed.

Today is First-Generation College Celebration Day, which is observed nationwide in honor of the successes of first-generation college students, faculty, staff and alumni.

Homecoming week ended on a high note, as FAU Football kept its home win streak alive and we celebrated faculty, student, alumni and community leadership at the Talon Awards ceremony.

This week, Florida Atlantic University hosted five special in-person commencement ceremonies to honor our 2020 graduates, who had to graduate virtually last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
